During the boat rides to the islands, passengers can get considerably wet because of the sea spray.

We recommend:

• Wear comfortable clothes that can get wet before boarding.
• Bring sandals or water shoes.
• Protect phones, documents and electronic devices.
• Bring a change of dry clothes.
• Keep your belongings in waterproof bags.

Passengers must be ready to get wet from the moment they board the boat.

For safety reasons, swimming from one island to another is strictly forbidden during our excursions.

Boats circulate constantly in these areas and there is a risk of accidents.

Visitors must stay within the swimming areas indicated by the guides.

Allowed

• Small coolers.
• Drinks in aluminum cans.
• Canned beer, respecting local rules.
• Reusable bottles that are not made of glass.

Forbidden

• Glass bottles.
• Glass containers.
• Large coolers that make transportation difficult.

Reason: the movement of the boats can break glass containers and cause injuries.

It is strictly forbidden to:

• Touch starfish.
• Take them out of the water.
• Lift them to take pictures.
• Handle them in any way.

Physical contact can harm them. Products on the skin, including some sunscreens, can also be a risk for sensitive marine organisms.

At GunaIslandsTours we want to contribute to the conservation of our beaches, islands and ecosystems. The accumulation of waste is an environmental challenge for the communities of Guna Yala.

• Collect all the waste generated during the excursion.
• Keep cans, wrappers and other waste.
• Use bags to store the trash.
• Dispose of waste only in suitable places.
• Do not leave trash on the beaches.
• Do not throw waste into the sea.

We invite our visitors to take their waste back to Panama City whenever possible, to make its proper disposal easier. This is a recommendation, not an obligation.
